Rita lives locally and is married with two daughters and a grand-daughter.

Following a career as a Bank Manager, Rita currently serves as a Town and District Councillor for Beacon Ward.

She was Town Mayor in 2008/09 and 2017/18, she was also the Chairman of Newark and Sherwood District Council  in 2014/15.

Rita is passionate about Newark, its history, and facilities. She supports the “Cleaner Safer Greener” initiative to make improvements to our Town and District.

She supports many local clubs and societies which include the Operatic Society, Newark Twinning Association, Newark and Sherwood Concert Band, and Rotary.
